Urgent: DediPath Is Closing Today (DediPool Confirmed)

Recently over on LowEndTalk, a user named @haolun posted a thread titled: “DediPath Closure Of Business“.

In which, he posted the following email he received from DediPath:

If you have a domain registered with us please transfer it out ASAP.

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate your business and support over the years and this is heart breaking to everyone at DediPath.

Users were understandably skeptical of it being fake (which would mean the best-case scenario is the database being compromised).

However, previous downstream providers seemed to support the idea that DediPath was DediPooling, such as HostEONS:

Further, less than a month ago we covered EthernetServers moving from DediPath and suspecting a DediPool after their CTO Ernie left the company.

The Next Priority Was To Verify the Authenticity of the Emails

Another user @ceplavia provided the headers of the email:

It was pointed out by @Kris that the same MailChimp header matched (X-MC-User: 70b52fc85fa8008ae04a181ce) from other official DediPath emails.

Then later confirmed by both DediPath support and @Ernie himself, the former CTO of DediPath:

dedipath livechat

Unfortunately, this email is legit, and you have until the end of today (8/31/23) to move out of DediPath.

It is confirmed that DediPath has DediPooled. Best of luck migrating.

You can view several refugee deals here or on this thread.

WTF we have less than 24h to move to new provider!

How to download a copy of my own openvz vps?

Welp, looks like I have to contact PayPal to get my September payment back. Seems like a decent host but speed tests show their network to be either a bit overloaded or throttled. Ah well, another one bites the dust.

Can you guys use normal English instead of slang? I don’t know what “Dedipool” or “Dedipooling” means. Does it means that they try to pool as much customers as possible only to shut down?

    August 31, 2023 @ 8:20 pm | Reply
    • Lol, insolvency. It’s our way of saying running out of money and having to shut down.

  6. To anyone who has been affected by DediPath going out of business:
I will price match invoices from DediPath that you can provide for the last 2 months. We are a cloud provider that has recently made the move off of Dedipath due to issues with uptime. Their lack of ability to follow an SLA was causing issues with our customers. We are now in colocations that are SOC 2 Type 2 verified and follow strict procedures to achieve the advertised uptime.

We can GUARANTEE an uptime of 99.9%. However, uptime will most likely be more. If you have any questions, please reach out to sales@technolify.com.

  8. This is pretty bad news with very urgent annoucement. The provider was pretty decent and the prices were unbeatable. I was considering buying servers from them several time. Hope that all clients will be able to pull the backups and relocate to reliable host.

Fuckers didn’t even send everyone an email notification. They sent me the invoice email and the ticket open confirmation but not the heads-up email.

Now I have to use old backups.
